Alternative to iGTD?

Postby Serge » Thu Jul 09, 2009 3:05 pm

As this project is stopped, I have been loking for an alternative to iGTD.
I have considered Things and Ommnifocus and have had a look into other
applications.

My conclusion is:
There is nothing which is as easy-structured and flexible like iGTD.

Does anybody know to which software I could switch?
Is there any GTD-Software which comes closed to iGTD?

(Subprojects, the Archived Categories part, no mixture between
the Project/Cotext-browser and the tasks on the right side).

At the moment for me the best solution is, just to keep using my old 12" Powerbook
with OSX 10.4xx for iGTD and some writing-tasks.

I don't know the curcumstances, but I think, the developers of iGTD really should have
open sourced the project instead of having stopped everything.

Anyway I wish to them all the best.

I think The Hit LIst is the best of the lot.

I am still using iGTD because it fits the way I think. I have too tried almost everything out there, OmniFocus, Things, The HitList etc. but nothing compares. But naturally iGTD is getting older and in the end it probably wont work.

I said somewhere there before that I think that iGTD 1 should have been fixed of the Leopard errors before working further on iGTD 2. But that is probably too late now. iGTD beta is very nice as far as it gets but iGTD 1 needed the fixes.

Guess I have to find me some other app to use. Things is very nice looking and has tagging which I find a must. OmniFocus is in many ways cool too. Hard to decide.

Btw: I made me a small system for tasks on paper. Take a look if you like at: http://font.is/?p=790

Good luck to you all.
